Meet our Team
Managing Care Solutions (MCS) was founded by Dr. Steven Wegner to help physicians rapidly launch a successful, high value CCM program that improves patient care and maximizes the potential for additional revenue. Dr. Wegner has been passionately serving Medicare and Medicaid populations for over 17 years.
Dr. Wegner has also functioned in a variety of roles in the award-winning Community Care of North Carolina (CCNC), North Carolina’s community based Medicaid program that brings healthcare professionals together to provide cooperative, coordinated care through the Medical Home model. He has served as Chairman of CCNC, as the Chief Medical Officer, and as the Chief Innovations Officer.
In addition, he founded AccessCare, a nonprofit organization that is one of the first and largest of the 14 CCNC networks. Currently, he serves as the President of Community Physician Network of North Carolina LLC, made up of almost 1000 independent primary care physicians across North Carolina.
Dr. Wegner has worked in the NC Pediatric Society, the NC Medical Society, and served on the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Finance Committee for 8 years and as Chair for 4 years.
Over the past 35 years, Mr. Levy has established a reputation as a leader in integrating technology to solve business problems and exploit opportunities in business intelligence, networking, electronic funds transfer, electronic commerce and direct marketing. He led the development, implementation and operation of CIRRUS, the first international ATM interchange network.
Mr. Levy also served as Senior Vice President for MasterCard International, where he managed a worldwide systems development staff of 200 professionals located in 3 development centers on 3 continents, with 400 simultaneous projects and an annual budget of more than $25 million. He was appointed an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Health Policy and Management within the Gillings School of Global Public Health at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2005.
Marcelletta Miles has 20 years of healthcare experience in various healthcare settings. She has a strong commitment to education and future healthcare leaders. She received her MBA in 2009 and became a healthcare instructor at a local private college. She initiated the AccessCare Public Health Nurse Preceptor Program with East Carolina University, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Fayetteville Community College School of Nursing. She is also a certified leadership and life coach and she is on the faculty of Raleigh Coaching Academy.
Sherri is a Masters prepared nurse with over 30 years of clinical and leadership experience. She has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient; outpatient; disease management (call center); and community- based care management. Her last 14 years of experience have been in case management leadership, and most recently community based case management. Sherri is certified as a case manager and as an advanced practice nurse. Her clinical interests include geriatrics; palliative care; behavior change; case management, and psychiatry.
Julie has 37 years of experience in health services that spans the planning and delivery of public health and patient care services, leadership of health services and managed care organizations, research and evaluation, and academic teaching. For approximately 20 years she has planned and directed health services research focused on: health promotion and disease prevention, community-based performance improvement initiatives, implementation science, innovative Medicaid delivery systems enhanced with care management and disease management, CM information technology, and graduate nursing education. She is part of the team that developed the Medicare annual wellness visit and chronic care management programs for Managing Care Solutions.
Jessica has over 10 years experience working with providers in the health care field. Jessica has worked for the past nine years with AccessCare as a practice liaison. She works closely with Medicaid providers and patients in order to improve patient health and implement continuous quality improvement at the practice level. Jessica is bilingual in Spanish and is also a certified facilitator of the English and Spanish language Stanford Chronic Disease Self-Management Program.
